On the Back…
I sincerely hope you have a truly “Merry Christmas.” To ensure that you have your best Christmas ever, let’s see if you’ve been naughty or nice. How many times have you told a lie? Be honest. How many times have you stolen something, irrespective of the value? Have you looked with lust towards anyone, Jesus, who is the reason for the season, said that if you look with lust you commit adultery in your heart? Have you hated anyone, (God counts this as murder)? Finally, have you put other things before God? If you answered yes to the questions above, then you haven’t been nice, rather before God you would be a Lying, Thieving, Adulterer, a Murderer, and you’d also be guilty of breaking the first and greatest commandment.
So where will you go if you die tonight? If you failed the questions above and have broken God’s law (which is sin) then you would deserve Hell forever. Sin is so bad in God’s sight, that He will even judge your thought life. This is because God is Just, and must punish those who break His laws.
How can you escape God’s judgement? This Christmas card should be a clue. Jesus Christ the Son of God, became a man, lived a sinless life, then gave Himself as a payment for your sin when He died on the Cross. God poured out the punishment you deserve, onto Jesus. Three days later He rose from the grave, conquering death. This means God can now forgive you on the basis that Jesus took your punishment. To access this forgiveness, God commands you to Repent (turn from sin), and put your Faith (trust) in Jesus Christ. If you do this, God will forgive every sin you’ve ever committed and grant you everlasting life. For more information, get a Bible and read it daily. Have a Merry Christmas.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
